Documentary film "Brattya". The story of children a few kilometres from the front line
Derhachi is a city in Kharkiv Oblast located just a few kilometres from the front line. Air defence systems operate here almost every day, and residents live under the constant threat of new attacks. Yet even in these conditions, children continue to play sport, dream and believe in their own future.
"Brattya" is a documentary film about children, sport and the people who have come together for the development of their city and its youth.
The main characters are young athletes from the Derhachi Boxing Federation "Brattya", founded in 2023 by former serviceman Dmytro Hrinchenko. Today, around 70 children aged 5 and above train here. Due to the constant danger, sessions take place in a shelter — but this does not stop the young athletes from developing and competing in regional and national championships.
Bratia is not only a film about boxing. It is a story about resilience, strength of character, community support and people who, in the hardest of times, create opportunities for children to live and grow. The camera captures the everyday reality of a frontline city, where every achievement carries a special weight.
The film was shot during an inter-regional boxing tournament held in April 2026 in Derhachi. Fifty young athletes from Kharkiv and Sumy oblasts came to the city. For each of them, stepping into the ring was an act of courage and strength of spirit.
For the XMODULE team, Derhachi holds deep significance. This is where our production facility operated before being relocated to Poltava Oblast following the start of the full-scale invasion. It is also where many of our employees were born and grew up. This is a city tied to our history, our memories and people who remain close to us. Supporting Derhachi is therefore something that comes naturally to us. We believe that the future of the city is its children — and that we must protect them and support their development.
Together with the Derhachi Boxing Federation, we made this film to show the world: there are children who dream, train, win and inspire adults by their example. There are people who do everything in their power, every single day, so that a frontline city rings not only with air raid sirens, but also with children's laughter, sporting victories and hope for the future.
We believe these stories need to be told to the world. Because they remind us of what Ukraine is fighting for today.
