XMODULE at ReBuild Ukraine Health & Rehabilitation 2026: Quick-Assembly Buildings for the Development of Medical Infrastructure

At the end of September, the international conference ReBuild Ukraine Health & Rehabilitation 2026 took place in Kyiv. The event brought together Ukrainian companies, international organizations, representatives of government institutions and communities. The main goal of the event was to develop the healthcare system and restore medical infrastructure.

For XMODULE, participation in the forum was an opportunity to discuss the needs of the healthcare sector and present the possibilities of quick-assembly construction for medical facilities in communities.

What medical infrastructure needs are currently a priority?

The central topic of the forum was the restoration and development of Ukraine’s medical infrastructure. Communities presented their own projects of hospitals and rehabilitation centers, international partners presented opportunities for support and financing, while representatives of the healthcare sector discussed the development of rehabilitation services, digital transformation, and the integration of Ukrainian healthcare into the European system. Particular attention was paid to medical assistance in frontline regions.

These areas are united by one practical need: the healthcare system requires infrastructure that can be created and commissioned within a short period, equipped with the necessary engineering systems and equipment, and scaled.

Where can modular medical buildings be used?

Quick-assembly construction makes it possible to create medical facilities of various purposes and sizes. XMODULE develops the quick-assembly medical buildings sector and designs facilities for various purposes:

• medical points;

• outpatient clinics and laboratories;

• rehabilitation centers;

• stabilization points;

• modular hospitals;

• specialized premises for medical equipment and technological processes.

The layout, number of modules, engineering networks, zoning and configuration of such a facility are determined according to its functional purpose and technical specification.

From a module to a specialized medical facility

For medical infrastructure, it is not enough simply to manufacture premises of the required area. The design must take into account functional zoning, staff and patient flows, placement of medical and technological equipment, power supply, ventilation, air conditioning, water supply and wastewater disposal.

XMODULE already has experience in implementing specialized medical facilities. One such project is a modular medical instrument reprocessing complex, implemented at the initiative of the International Committee of the Red Cross. Today, the building is actively used by medical professionals in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Is the healthcare sector ready for quick-assembly construction?

Modular and quick-assembly construction is already being used to develop Ukraine’s medical infrastructure. Today, modular clinics installed with the support of international partners and integrated into the healthcare system are operating in frontline regions.

For Ukraine, where part of the medical infrastructure needs to be restored or created within tight timeframes, quick-assembly construction technology is one of the practical and effective tools.
